SCHMIDT SWEEPS IMCA MODIFIED ACTION AT OUTAGAMIE SPEEDWAY

(Seymour, WI) July 31, 2020 Race Results- A total of 125 cars checked in to do battle for point night number 6 at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC. There were 41 IMCA Modifieds, 23 IMCA Sport Mods, 21 Unified Street Stocks, 20 IMCA Stock Cars and 20 IMCA Sport Compacts.

Mark Schuenemann shot to the lead of the IMCA Modified feature from the front row as Jamie Schmidt, Jason Czarapata and Benji LaCrosse gave chase. Schuenemann worked the outside groove with the competition hot on his heals running the same groove. A caution with 3 laps remaining changed everything. As the race resumed Schuenemann went to the bottom groove, this allowed Schmidt to slip by up top. Schmidt pulled away to score the win and a clean sweep to boot. Lucas Lamberies made a late race charge to place second, Schuenemann was third, LaCrosse took fourth and Jason Czarapata completed the top five.

The IMCA Stock Car feature got off to a rough start with a crash that took out several drivers. Once the race resumed Tim Paitrick paced the field until Eric Arneson came storming by for the top spot on lap 5. Brandon Czarapata and Rod Snellenberger were in hot pursuit until a flat tire sent Snellenberger pit side. Meanwhile Czarapata began applying heavy pressure to Arneson in the closing laps. In the end Arneson held off a persistent Czarapata to score the win and extend his point lead. Czarapata had to settle for second at the pay window. Larry Karcz Jr had his best run of the season to place third, Logan Leary and Brett Wenzel rounded out the top five.

Brady Harshberger jumped to the lead on the first lap of the IMCA Sport Mod feature and never looked back, scoring his first ever feature win and a clean sweep on the night. Trailing Harshberger to the checkers were Jake Carpenter, Elijah Koenig, Jeff Schmuhl and Aaron Butterbrodt.

Jesse Krahn took the lead from James Fletcher on the 7th lap of the Unified Street Stock feature and drove all the way to victory lane. Krahn also scored a clean sweep.

Cody Booth was victorious in the IMCA Sport Compacts.
