ZDROIK SHADES AHO IN EAGLE RIVER B MOD SCRUM

(ZDROIK ALSO WINS LATE MODEL MAIN – REMAINS UNDEFEATED)

 

(EAGLE RIVER, WI) June 29 – Hometown driver Jason Zdroik fought off a tenacious Jesse Aho in the waning laps to hang on to the lead and win the B Mod feature at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday night.

 

Zdroik grabbed the lead on the third lap and kept the top spot as Aho broke through traffic and chased down the current point leader by the event’s halfway point. Aho settled for second at the pay window followed by Mickey Nosser, Judd Skubal and Matt Jacobsen, both who posted their first top five finishes of the season.

 

Meanwhile Zdroik capped off the night by passing Clearwater’s Dan Zelten at the event’s halfway point to snatch the lead and win his fifth straight late model feature. Zdroik remains undefeated in the division having won all five features this year.

 

Defending track champion Rod Snellenberger of Pulaski passed Jonathon Miller for the lead on lap three and captured his fourth stock car feature flag of the year. Phillips Roger Walker led every lap to win the pure stock feature.

 

Hometown driver Ryan Brown led every lap en route to victory in the caution free street stock feature while Minocqua’s Andy Fink swept action in the 600 micro division.

 

Twin Lakes, Michigan’s Cooper Aho copped the 300 junior sprint feature while Escanaba, Michigan’s Carson Artley topped the 300 pro class with a feature win.

 

The program was delayed by nearly one and one half hours as a heavy shower fell over the track late in the afternoon. With the help of track crew members and many of the racers who packed the track the show went forward as a capacity crowd was on hand afterwards to catch the fireworks display courtesy of Harry’s Fireworks.
