ZDROIK DOUBLES UP ON EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY LATE MODEL, MOD FEATURE WINS

(EAGLE RIVER, WI) June 8 – Hometown driver Jason Zdroik, one of a handful of drivers who pulls double duty racing in two divisions weekly, scored a pair of feature wins at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday night.

 

In the B mod feature Zdroik jumped into the lead from his outside front row starting spot and kept the top spot through several caution periods. Zdroik had his hands full in the waning laps when defending track champion Marcus Dunbar mounted a late race surge. Dunbar, who started fifth, slipped into 2^nd on a late race restart and began closing the gap on Zdroik with a few laps remaining.

On the final lap coming down for the checkers Dunbar looped his mount in turn four, sealing the deal for Zdroik at the checkers. Phillips’ Mickey Nosser crossed the line second followed by Dave Dishaw, Dustin White and Bruce Belland. Dunbar was credited with 10^th.

 

It was the same story in the late model main although this time it was Zdroik who sliced his way through the field, chased down the leader Dunbar in the final circuits and pulled off the late race pass and win.

Defending track champions Rod Snellenberger of Pulaski and Jason Eisel of Sugar Camp each scored feature wins in the stock car and street stock classes, respectively. Other feature winners on the evening included Woodruff’s Andy Fink, Dorchester’s Oakley Schwantes and Tomahawk’s Kaeden Bethel.
