World of Outlaws Visit Wilmot Raceway on Saturday, July 9 for Larry Hillerud Memorial Badger 40


WILMOT, Wisc. — July 6, 2022 — 
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series return to Wilmot Raceway in Wisconsin on Saturday, July 9 for the running of the Larry Hillerud Memorial Badger 40. 

 

Brad Sweet earned his first Wilmot win last year, taking the checkered flag over Logan Schuchart and Donny Schatz. Sweet took the top spot from Schuchart on lap-23 and paced the remainder of the 40-lap contest. 

 

David Gravel leads all World of Outlaws drivers with four-career wins at the track. The native of Watertown, Conn., has finished fourth or better in all six of his previous seven starts at Wilmot. 

 

Schatz, the 10-time series champion, won the Badger 40 for the first time in 2019. The North Dakota native is the only driver who has competed in each of the previous nine Outlaws race at Wilmot, picking up top-10 finishes in each and every one of those races. 

 

Sheldon Haudenschild, who is second in points and leads the series with eight wins this season, has finished in the top-10 in each of his previous five Outlaws starts at Wilmot.  

 

Carson Macedo, who is third in points, finished sixth last year at Wilmot. Macedo has six wins already this year as he continues his second season aboard the No. 41 for Jason Johnson Racing. 

 

Logan Schuchart has six top-10 finishes in seven career Wilmot starts. The Pennsylvania native sits fifth in points and has one win this season. Jacob Allen, who is Schuchart’s teammate has three wins this season and is currently ninth in points. 

 

James McFadden and Brock Zearfoss are both back for their sophomore season’s on the World of Outlaws trail this year. McFadden is currently eighth in points, while Zearfoss, who recently earned his first victory of the season, is 10th

 

A trio of drivers are battling for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award this season, led by Spencer Bayston, who has a pair of wins thus far in 2022 and is seventh in points. Retired NASCAR star, Kasey Kahne is also on the road for his rookie season with the Outlaws as is Noah Gass from Oklahoma. 

 

Veteran driver Bill Rose is back on the Outlaws tour this season, while young Canadian Robbie Price, is piloting the familiar No. 7S for the Sides Motorsports team and Jason Sides.
