Wilmot Raceway 8/21/20 results
(Wilmot, Wis., Friday, August 21, 2020)–Cory Eliason of Visalia, CA scored the highlight victory in the Bumper to Bumper Interstates Racing Association(IRA) – Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCOC) Sprint Car Challenge presented by Hometown Hauler of Antioch, IL Friday, August 21 at Wilmot Raceway. Eliason took the lead 10 laps into the 30 lap main overtaking Oswego’s Blake Nimee. Eliason went on to the win as All Star competitors swept the podium with Ian Madsen of Australia second and Hunter Schuerenberg of Sikeston, MO third. Tony Stewart of Columbus, IN finished sixth. Beaver Dam’s Jeremy Schultz was the highest finishing IRA regular in eighth picking up a $500 bonus from Hometown Hauler. Scott Ellis of Lake Villa, IL scored his first Wilmot feature win taking top honors leading flag to flag in the Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars. South Milwaukee’s Jacob Balk was able to get along side Ellis a couple of times, but had to settle for second. John Cole of McHenry, IL was third. Eagle’s Steve Mueller chalked up Modified feature win number three of the season. Mueller and Genoa City’s Nick Simons battled back and forth, exchanging the lead numerous times throughout the last half of the 20-lap main. N. Simons ended up second with Sheboygan’s Joel Seegert third. Genoa City’s Mike Simons was uninjured after flipping hard in turn one cushion during the early laps of the main, landing upside down. Pell Lake’s Cody Potter scored his fifth Wilmot street stock feature win of the season. Potter powered into the lead diving to the inside coming out of turn two with less than two laps remaining overtaking Muskego’s Courtney Atkinson Atkinson, who held the lead the previous 18 circuits, ended up second. Pleasant Prairie’s Josh Gehrig was third.
