Rice Lake Speedway Officially Postponed Again
By Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI, April 26 – After assessing current track conditions, the upcoming weather for the weekend and the speedway grounds, an official announcement came this morning that the Rice Lake Speedway has postponed their seventy first annual opener once again.
With an improving weather forecast in the cards for next week, the Rice Lake Speedway will make a third attempt to get the 2023 racing season under way on Saturday night, May 6th. Judging for the Best Appearing Car awards will be done on that night and all five classes that regularly race at the track will be in action that night. Pit gates will open at 4 pm with the spectator grandstand opening at 5 pm, draw cut off for the drivers at 6:30 pm with hot laps and racing to follow immediately.
A highly desired practice session has now been scheduled for Wednesday night, May 3rd from 6-9 pm. Call Dave Adams for details on this.
Just one week after the opener, the first special event of the year will be presented when the WISSOTA Late Models make their first of three visits to the track in 2023 when the Trackside Collectibles 40 will be presented along with a full show in all five regular night classes.
Check the speedway website and face book page for updates as next weekend approaches. Call Dave Adams at 715-205-2861 or Mitch Hansen at 715-205-1122 with any questions.
