Rice Lake Speedway Announces Schedule Updates

By Ed Reichert

Rice Lake WI – The month of June has not been a good one so far for the racers and fans of the Rice Lake Speedway. Rainouts have cost the speedway a couple of important events, most of which have now been able to be rescheduled and announced.

The Fastlane Motorsports Northland Super Stock Series race, originally scheduled for June 6th, has been rescheduled to Wednesday night, July 3rdwhere it will now be a part of the Firecracker special, making this one of the biggest races of the entire racing season.

Series Director Dennis McCauley has worked with Rice Lake Speedway LLC to find a date that will both work for the track and also the drivers that participate in the series. This midweek show will find no other conflicts with other tracks racing the Super Stocks and allows all those drivers chasing series points to attend the Rice Lake race and not risk having their standing affected at other tracks they may race at. A field of more than thirty Super Stocks is expected to be on hand for this event.

The Midwest Modifieds that were also scheduled to be a part of the original race and competing for an increased purse, will also see their portion of the program moved to July 3rd where they will be racing for $600 going to the event feature winner. The WISSOTA sanctioned Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks will also be a part of this mega program.

The Firecracker spedial is famous for its fireworks display to celebrate the fourth of July holiday and is a large crowd attration on its own with typically the largest crowd of the entire racing season on hand that night.

Rice Lake Speedway LLC has promised that they will be presenting the largest and most spectacular firecworks display in years and perhaps ever, as a part of this years’s program, showing their continuing committment to make the speedway the best fan attraction in the area.

On July 3rd, the pit gates will open at 4 pm with spectator gates opening at 5 pm and the first race begins at 7 pm. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and secure their favorite seats on a night when a large crowd is expected. As a bonus to the fans, regular admission prices will be in effect for this very special event.

The Relay at the Races, planned as a part of the June 15th program, has not as yet been rescheduled as track officials look to find the best date to add that event back to the schedule. Expect an announcement on that event soon.
