“Mighty” Mike Mullen Doubles Up at Outagamie Speedway

By Edward Anschutz

(Seymour, WI) July 30, 2021 Outagamie Speedway Race Report- Seymour’s Mike Mullen took home top honors in the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Stock Cars. 115 cars checked in to do battle at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC. There were 17 IMCA Modifieds, 19 IMCA Stock Cars, 27 IMCA Sport Mods, 20 IMCA Sport Compacts, 21 Unified Street Stocks and 11 Vintage Modifieds.

Dan Roedl took command early in the IMCA Modified feature as point leader Tyler Wilson gave chase. Roedl worked the extreme high side to open up a sizable advantage over the field but a caution on 9 erased that. As the green flew “Mighty” Mike Mullan slashed his way through the field, pulling even with Roedl for the lead. A dive bomb from Mullen gave him the number one spot and once there he never looked back, scoring his 3rd feature win of the season. Wilson padded his point lead with a second place, Roedl was third, Brian Mullen and Johnny Whitman completed the top five.

In the IMCA Stock Cars it was Mike Mullen jumping to the lead from his front row starting spot. Several cautions kept the field bunched but no one could match the raw speed Mullen had tonight as he easily cruised to victory in his G-Force Chassis. After troubles in the heat race point leader Brandon Czarapata rallied to place second, Brett Wenzel had a hard-fought battle to place third, Larry Karcz Jr was fourth and Jeff Kropp took fifth.

Derek Fehling took command of the IMCA Sport Mod feature on lap 2 and kept the competition at bay, as he pulled away to score his first win of the season. Jake Carpenter had a very strong second place, Skyler Woods was third, Bernie Miller fourth and Elijah Koenig completed the top five.

Jesse Krahn outlasted Aaron Stolp to claim his 7th feature win of the season. Stolp had to settle for second, Paul Diefenthaler rallied from row 10 to place third, Brooke Diefenthaler was fourth and Paul White completed the top five.

With his second feature win of the season Brett Deprez took sole possession of the point lead in the IMCA Sport Compacts. David Cox was second, Tony Everard took third, Matthew Brehmer was fourth and TJ Everard placed fifth.

Jesse Denome was victorious in the Vintage Modifieds.
