LaCrosse & Richards lead the way at Outagamie Speedway

By Edward Anschutz

(Seymour, WI) August 3, 2021 Outagamie Speedway presented by Klink Equipment & Elite Coatings Inc Race Report- The World of Outlaws Late Models invaded the fairgrounds and saw Cade Dillard outlast Brandon Sheppard to score the $10,000 payday.  For full Late Model results please visit worldofoutlaws.com

A total of 72 competitors checked in to do battle. There were 29 WoO Late Models, 25 IMCA Modifieds and 18 IMCA Stock Cars.

Kelsy “Hollywood” Hayes paced the opening laps of the IMCA Modified feature until Greg Gretz raced by up top on lap 3. Gretz immediately came under fire from Benji LaCrosse. LaCrosse was able to slip by for the lead on 5. Gretz was up for the challenged and dogged your leader until the midway point. That’s when “The Hitman” Johnny Whitman came to call, racing to second and setting the fastest laps on the track. A caution with 3 laps remaining bunched the field. As the green flew LaCrosse kept the competition at bay to score his 127th career feature win. Whitman had to settle for second, Brian Mullen rallied late to place third, Gretz was fourth and Wyatt Block Jr rounded out the top five.

Action was red flagged on the opening lap of the IMCA Stock Car feature as a multi-car crash saw Travis Van Straten end up on his roof entering turn 3. Eric Mahlik and Ronnie Christopher also received heavy damage. All drivers emerged unscathed but were done for the night.

Kenny Richards outraced pole sitter “Hot” Rod Snellenberger on the opening lap of the $750 to win IMCA Stock Car feature. Richards began to distance himself as the battle for second heated up. Brandon Czarapata worked to the outside of Snellenberger and that’s how the duo would stay the remainder of the event. Each taking their turn as the runner-up but neither could gain ground on Richards. In the end it was Richards bagging the cash and the trophy. Czarapata was able to secure second, Snellenberger was third, Trent Nolan placed fourth and Larry Karcz Jr completed the top five. The win also puts Richards on the All-Star ballot for the 2021 IMCA Super Nationals.

We are back in action for a full point night on Friday August 6th with the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Sport Mods and Unified Dirt Street Stocks. Racing starts at 6:30pm
