(EAGLE RIVER, WI) July 28 – Defending track champion Jesse Aho of Twin Lakes, Michigan squeezed his way in between leader Ty Springer and a lapped car on a lap 11 to restart to snatch the lead and go on to capture the B Mod feature at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday night.

Hometown racer Ty Springer led much of the early going through a couple of early cautions. It was on a lap 11 restart where Aho decided to make his move. A caution with three laps to go tightened the field, but Aho was up for the challenge and kept the lead and cruised to victory.

Marinesco, Michigan’s Marcus Dunbar mounted a late race surge to wrestle the runnerup spot away from Springer, who settled for third. Hometown drivers Bruce Belland and Jason Zdroik placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Marcus Dunbar made up for a second place B mod finish by clipping hometown driver Jason Zdroik at the checkers to capture the ERS late model feature win. Zdroik scored a close second, followed by Dustin White, Darren Dunbar and Dan Zelten.

Laona’s Troy LaRock led from green-to-checkered in the Unified street stock feature to capture the win.

The Unified street stock feature was red flagged on lap eight when the cars of Ryan Brown and Tristan Valeria locked horns. The contact sent Valeria’s racer into a barrel roll in turn one. Valeria was shaken up but otherwise unhurt.

Boulder Junction’s Mark “The Angry American” Schuenemann fought off a feisty challenge from hometown driver Ryan Glembin to collect his second stock feature of the year. Glembin settled for second at the pay window followed by Wausau’s Kevin Bogdanovich, Shiocton’s Barry Van Straten and hometown driver Kyle Schneider placed third through fifth, respectively.

Hometown driver Tommie Springer led wire-to-wire in the caution free 600 Micro feature while the Junior Sprint features were captured by hometown driver Kayden “Bubba” Halsey and Mercer’s Aiden Schmidt, respectively.

Weekly racing resumes next Tuesday night, August 4 beginning at 7:30 p.m. Please check the track’s Eagle River Speedway Facebook page for regular updates.
