ERIC VAN ITEN MEMORIAL RETURNS TO ‘THE BURG’ JULY 17 – BIG CASH ON THE LINE
($5,000-to-win for IMCA stock cars – additional sponsors sought)
(Luxemburg, WI) May 1 – The second annual Eric Van Iten Memorial Night is set for Sunday, July 17 at The ‘Burg Speedway in Luxemburg, Wisconsin and once again some big cash will be on the line for drivers in several divisions.
A $5,000 top prize is already set for the Quietwoods RV Sales and Service IMCA stock cars with Village Kitchen IMCA modifieds scrapping for a $2,500 top prize. IMCA northern sportmods and NEW Tech Metals street stock feature winners will each take home $500, respectively.
The inaugural running of the Van Iten Memorial a year ago saw one of the largest crowds in the racetrack’s history. A whopping $63,000 purse was split up amongst the 210 drivers in four divisions who battled before a packed grandstand.
Luxemburg native Benji LaCrosse scored a $7,000 payday in the IMCA modified feature while Pulaski’s Devin Snellenberger scored the IMCA stock car feature win. Other ’21 winners in the Van Iten Memorial included Sturgeon Bay’s Cody Rass (IMCA northern sportmod) and Manitowoc’s Paul Diefenthaler (Unified street stocks).
The 50/50 drawing that night will be held to raise money for Wings Over Wisconsin – Denmark chapter.
