World of Outlaws Visit Beaver Dam Raceway this Friday & Saturday

BEAVER DAM, Wisc.  The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series hits the track at Beaver Dam Raceway this weekend for the 13th Annual Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial Presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts, on Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17. 

 

Last year, Sheldon Haudenschild swept the event, taking the checkered flag on both Friday and Saturday night. In the opener, he was victorious over Carson Macedo and David Gravel. The fourth generation driver started on the pole and led all 35 laps to take the $10,000 top prize. 

 

In the finale, Haudenschild took the lead from Spencer Bayston on lap-13 and paced the rest of the 40-lap contest to score the $20,000 victory. Donny Schatz, the 10-time series champion, and past winner of the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial finished second, with Logan Schuchart in third. 

 

Haudenschild has three wins in his career at Beaver Dam Raceway. The Ohio native has finished among the top-10 in seven of his eight starts at the track. Haudenschild is currently sixth in the series standings. 

 

Leading the way into Beaver Dam is current series point leader, Brad Sweet who is looking for his fifth straight Outlaws title. The California native has five victories thus far in 2023 and has finished among the top-10, 25 times through 28 races. Sweet has four wins in Beaver Dam in his career and has been among the top-10 in 10 of this 12 starts at the track. 

 

David Gravel, who is second in the standings, leads the series with six wins thus far in 2023. The veteran driver has 11 top-10 finishes in 13 Beaver Dam starts, including six top-five showings as he chases his first win at the high-banked, third-mile. 

 

Carson Macedo, who is third in points, has won three times this year. He is tied with Sweet for the series lead with 25 top-10 finishes.  

 

Schuchart rides fourth in the series standings on the strength of one win and 21 top-10 finishes. The Pennsylvanian has seven top-10 finishes in 11 Beaver Dam starts as he chases his first victory at the track. 

 

Schatz, the 10-time series champion, who is fifth in points, has won twice in his career at Beaver Dam Raceway. The North Dakota native has made 30 starts at the track, racking up 24 top-10 finishes, with 16 of those being top-five performances. 

 

Gio Scelzi, the leading contender in the battle for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award, heads to Beaver Dam seventh in points. The Californian has 18 top-10 finishes as closes in his first win of the 2023 season. 

 

Spencer Bayston, the reigning Rookie of the Year, with the Outlaws, finished fourth on both nights of the Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial last year. The Indiana native is eighth in points and has 16 top-10 finishes thus far in 2023. 

 

Brock Zearfoss, who is in the midst of his third season on the Outlaws tour in 2023, has made three starts at Beaver Dam Raceway in his young career. The Pennsylvania native ran 10th in his debut at the track in 2021. 

 

Jacob Allen rounds out the current top-10 in the series standings. The Pennsylvania native has eight top-10 finishes this season as he closes in on his first win. Allen has four top-10 finishes at Beaver Dam in his career, including a sixth-place effort last season. 

 

James McFadden is back in the Roth Motorsports No. 83 for the second consecutive year on the Outlaws tour. The Australian, who already has three wins this season, has made three starts at Beaver Dam in his career and has a pair of top-10 finishes. 

 

Robbie Price and Noah Gass, a couple of young drivers, who hit the road for the first time with the series last year, are back again this season. Each is just outside of the top-10 in the series standings. 

 

Bill Rose, the 2015 IRA champion, is back on the Outlaws tour full-time this year as well and has raced quite a few times at Beaver Dam Raceway in his career.  

 

Kasey Kahne, who has made a handful of starts at Beaver Dam in his career with the Outlaws, will be in action both nights.
