World of Outlaws Return to Beaver Dam Raceway on Wednesday, July 10
BEAVER DAM, Wisc. — The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series returns to Beaver Dam Raceway on Wednesday, July 10 for the 14th Annual Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial Presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts.
Earlier this season, Sheldon Haudenschild was victorious at the high-banked third-mile oval. The Ohio native now has five wins in his career at Beaver Dam Raceway. Haudenschild has been victorious in four of the last five races for the series at the track. The Ohio native has finished among the top-10 in 10 of his 11 career starts at the track. Haudenschild is currently seventh in the series standings and has seven victories this season, which is second most of drivers competing full-time with the Outlaws.
Leading the way into Beaver Dam is current series point leader, David Gravel who is looking for his first Outlaws title. The Connecticut native has a series-leading nine wins to go along with 26 top-10 finishes. The veteran driver has 14 top-10 finishes in 16 Beaver Dam starts, including six top-five showings as he chases his first win at the high-banked, third-mile. Gravel finished third at Beaver Dam on May 31.
Donny Schatz, the 10-time series champion, who is currently second in points, has won twice in his career at Beaver Dam Raceway. The North Dakota native has made 33 starts at the track, racking up 27 top-10 finishes, with 16 of those being top-five performances.
Carson Macedo, who is third in points, has two wins thus far in 2024. The California native has finished among the top-10 in eight of his nine career starts at Beaver Dam as he looks for his first victory at the track. Macedo ran second on May 31.
Giovanni Scelzi, who is in his sophomore season on the road with the World of Outlaws, heads to Beaver Dam fourth in points. The Californian, who is the son of NHRA drag racing champion Gary Scelzi, has two wins this season and a series-leading 27 top-10 finishes. Scelzi finished fourth at Beaver Dam earlier this season.
Michael “Buddy” Kofoid, the leading contender for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award this season, made his Beaver Dam debut on May 31, finished seventh. The California native is currently fifth in points and has one win thus far in 2024.
Logan Schuchart rides sixth in the series standings and recently picked up his first win of the season. The Pennsylvanian has 10 top-10 finishes in 14 Beaver Dam starts as he looks for his first victory at the track. He charged his way from the 15th starting spot to finish fifth on May 31.
Bill Balog, who won with the World of Outlaws at Beaver Dam in 2016, is also contending for the rookie crown this year. The native of North Pole, Alaska, who now calls Hartland, Wisconsin home, is eighth in points on the strength of 15 top-10 finishes. Balog ran eighth at Beaver Dam on May 31.
Brock Zearfoss, who is in the midst of his fourth season on the Outlaws tour, has made five starts at Beaver Dam Raceway in his career. The Pennsylvania native ran 10th in his debut at the track in 2021. Zearfoss is currently ninth in points.
Landon Crawley, another of the rookie contenders, rounds out the current top-10 in the standings. The teenager from Arkansas drives the No. 7S for longtime Outlaws driver Jason Sides, who serves as the crew chief. Crawley has four top-10 finishes this season and made his first Beaver Dam appearance on May 31.
Kraig Kinser, who is a past winner at Beaver Dam with the Outlaws, is back on the tour this season. The son of 20-time series champion, Steve Kinser is just outside of the top-10 in points. Kinser has made 20 main event starts at Beaver Dam in his career.
Bill Rose, the 2015 IRA champion is currently sidelined by an injury sustained in May, has young Kelby Watt, piloting his family No. 6 car. Watt will be making his Beaver Dam debut.
