Wilmot Raceway Weekly 6/6/20
(Wilmot, Wisconsin, Saturday, June 6, 2020)–Wilmot Raceway finally opened its 2020 season on Saturday, June 6 featuring four hotly contested feature events. Tim Hamburg of Dixon, IL caught Genoa City’s Mike Simons on the white flag lap coming out of turn four for the victory. Oconomowoc’s Ryan Zielski headed the field from flag to flag in the Autometer Wisconsin Wingless Sprints feature holding off a late charge from Greg Olsen of Round Lake Heights, IL as the frontrunners sifted through lapped traffic. Jay Orr of South Milwaukee won the Bandit 4-cylinders season opener main as that class saw its largest turnout ever. Pleasant Prairie’s Josh Gehrig bested defending champion Rob Maule of Hebron, IL as the two went back and forth during the closing laps of the street stock main.
The 1/3-mile clay oval on the Kenosha County Fairgrounds resumes action Saturday, June 13 featuring the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Winged Sprints, the Wisconsin Wingless Sprints, season debut of IRA Lightning Sprints and Modifieds.
