Wilmot Raceway 5-22-21 Results
(Wilmot, Wis., Saturday, May 22, 2021)–Kansasville’s Ryan Marshall scored his first ever 20-lap Autometer/Brewington Electric Wisconsin Wingless Sprint feature victory Saturday, May 22 at Wilmot Raceway. Marshall held off the late surges of runnerup Jimmy Sivia of Winthrop Harbor, IL and third place Chris Dodd of Trevor to become the fourth different main event winner in as many Wilmot events this season. “I was waiting for Jimmy (Sivia) to try a last surge, but I never saw it,” said Marshall, the 2020 Wingless Rookie of the Year. “To finally win one is awesome.” South Milwaukee’s Jay Orr made a rare Wilmot start pay off in the Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars as he won the 20-lap feature by over a straightaway over the rest of the field. Union Grove’s Dale Ehleiter took second in a tight battle with Scott Ellis of Lake Villa, IL third. “The car ran super,” said Orr. “I just wanted to shake it down to get it ready for the rest of the season. I will probably make one more start here at Wilmot as we travel a lot.” Caledonia’s Chris Carlson made it four for four in modified features this season, scoring the 20-lap main event win. Carlson overtook the lead ironically, with 12 laps remaining matching his car number. Carlson went on to the win with Eagle’s Steve Mueller holding off Genoa City’s Nick Simons, who was the early race leader, for second. “I have to thank my crew who has given me a great car,” said Carlson. “It has been running great.” Cody Erickson of Algonquin, IL won the 10-lap street stock non-points feature. Scott Quarnstrom of Lake Villa held off New Berlin’s Jake Banish in a tight battle for second. “I have to thank my dad (Dave) for all of his support, as well as my sponsors,” said Erickson. “Thanks to the other drivers who came even though it wasn’t for points. At least we got to race.” Next up for Wilmot Raceway’s 1/3-mile clay oval located on the Kenosha County Fairgrounds is Family Night on Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 29.
