WILMOT RACEWAY 2023 TRACK AND 10X IRA 410 WINGED CHAMPION BILL BALOG LOCKED INTO KNOXVILLE NATIONALS FINALE
(Wilmot, Wis., Friday, August 9, 2024)–Bill Balog known as the North Pole Nightmare originally from Alaska now Hartland, Wis., gave himself a birthday present by locking in a spot for the top 16 starting positions in the Knoxville Nationals Saturday, August 10 “A” Main feature.
A North Pole High School graduate, Balog,10-time Interstate Racing Association(IRA) Champion plus the reigning 2023 Wilmot Raceway 410 Winged Outlaw Sprint Car Season Series Champion, became the first ever representative of both the series and the track to secure a berth in the prestigious final race of the “super bowl” of sprint car racing held in Knoxville, Iowa.
Included among Balog’s many victories, are three IRA Founders Night Main events at Wilmot, where the IRA was founded over 50 years ago, in 2016, 2017 and 2020.
A solid performance in the preliminaries on his birthday on Thursday, August 8, locked Balog into his first ever Nationals A main in his first fill season campaigning on the national World of Outlaws traveling tour.
With Wilmot Raceway quiet the weekend of August 10 preparing for the upcoming Kenosha County Fair, many will be tuned into Facebook as well as DirtVision which broadcast’s the Nationals Live, and MyRacepass which is a live feed scoring system for updates on one of the most successful drivers to compete in Wilmot’s 74-year history.
Wilmot Raceway resumes action on Fair opening night, Wednesday, August 14 as the grandstand action features the Lift Pro/Hepfner Racing Products Wings Series 604 Winged Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds, Unified Street Stocks and B&L Office Furniture powered by American Tire & Auto Repair of Kenosha and Lindenhurst, IL Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars.
On Thursday, August 15 will be Badger Truck & Tractor Pulls with combine demolition derby prelims.
PI Motorsports Tractor & Truck Pulls with the combine demolition derby finale plus fireworks highlighting the Friday, August 16 program.
On Saturday, August 17, the Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Association Outlaw Sprint Cars have their final 2024 appearance at their birth place in the Annual Roger Iles Tribute. Wisconsin Auto Meter Powered By Gandrud Performance Wilmot Raceway Catalyst Exhibits WingLESS Sprints plus 11-75 Sports Complex IRA Lightning Sprints complete the all open wheel sprint car show.
The fair grandstand events conclude with the traditional International Demolition Derby on Sunday afternoon, August 18.
