Super Stocks Rained Out at Rice Lake
By Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI, June 6 – The Fastlane Motorsports Northland Super Stock Series, scheduled for Thursday night, June 6th at the Rice Lake Speedway, rained out.
Three and a half inches of rain since Sunday, June 2nd plus more rain that fell in the Rice Lake area on Wednesday morning made the entire facility far too wet to hold a racing program. Track officials had held out hope that the weather might clear and that they might be able to get on the track Wednesday morning but more rain, mist and drizzle kept that from happening and rather than offer up to the drivers a track that might not meet their expectations, track officials along with Series Director Dennis McCauley chose to cancell the night’s racing.
This event will very likely be rescheduled for a later date with the track owners and Fastlane officials working on a date that will be acceptable to the drivers, the track and also to the other tracks in this area that Fastlane works with. Expect an announcement on the exact date soon.
With the Rice Lake Speedway not racing on Saturday night, June 8th, the next scheduled event will be on Saturday night, June 15th. All five classes that race on a regular basis at the track will be in action and the Relay at the Races will be hosted on this night.
Normally a part of the Firecracker race in July, the Relay at the Races has been given its own night this year to make it an even bigger and more successful event.
Race time on June 15th will be at 6 pm and to learn more information about this event and the Fastlane Series event, visit the speedway website at www.ricelakespeedway.net or the speedway face book page.
