Street Stock Little Dream Race August 1st
By Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI – The twenty ninth annual Street Stock Little Dream race is set for Tuesday night, August 1st at the Rice Lake Speedway. Perhaps the largest paying Street Stock race in the entire country, this race has been drawing more and more attention nationally as the purse as continued to climb each year.
With a basic purse set by the track, the amount that the purse climbs is based on contributions from fans and businesses in attendance along with on line contributions as the evening progresses. There is probably nothing more exciting for both the fans and drivers as the amount continues to climb through the evening, and when Scott Tiefs and Chris Stepan announce the final purse just before the feature race begins, the crowd roars and the drivers tighten up their belts just a bit firmer.
In 2022, the trend continued with the purse again reaching a record amount. Local driver Nick Traynor from Barron Wisconsin won his second Little Dream race and went home with an assounding $28, 212 thanks to the generous fans and businesses that participated. With the large Street Stock car counts at many WISSOTA tracks this year, a new record turnout of participants is a possibility. Last year fifty three drivers from four states and Canada attempted to win the big prize.
This race is for Street Stocks only and the one division program will feature double heat races for the drivers, followed by Last Chance races and the main event. This year, in anticipation of a large car count, there will also be a Non-Qualifier feature that will pay $500 to the winner.
The raindate for this event is Wednesday night, August 2nd and this year no pre registration is required.
The Street Stock Little Dream will be presented by S & R Towing.
The Rice Lake Speedway is located one mile North of Rice Lake Wisconsin between Barron County SS and state highway 48.
