Rice Lake Speedway Wet; Spring Spectacular Next

Rice Lake WI, May 4 – A Saturday morning filled with sometimes heavy rain on top of a racing surface already wet from a full week’s worth of rain was more than the Rice Lake Speedway could handle on Saturday night, May 4th and the owners of Rice Lake Speedway LLC were forced to cancell the racing action slated for Saturday night. It was to have been Red Cedar Speedway night at the track and that event will be rescheduled. The Best Appearing Car awards, also scheduled to be handed out on Saturday, will instead be passed out this coming Saturday.

The first special event of the racing season will be upcoming on Saturday night, May 11th with the presenting of the first annual Spring Modified Spectacular brought to the speedway by emr and D. Jenkins Electric. The Modifieds will be the featured division at the track and will be racing a thirty lap main event with twelve hundred dollars going to the winner and all starters guaranteed at least a hundred dollars to take the green flag. An impressive field of Modified drivers is expected on Saturday night from several states for one of the first extra distance WISSOTA Modified races of the year. The drivers will not have to pay any kind of draw or entry fee and regular pit admission prices will be in effect.

The fans will also benefit was the general admission ticket price will not be elevated for this event also and along with the Modifieds, all four other WISSOTA classes that routinely race at the track, the Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks will all be racing a full program in addition to the Modified show.

The pit gates will open at 3 pm and the spectator gates one hour later. The cut off for racers is 5:30 pm and the first green flag will fly at 6 pm sharp.
