Rice Lake Speedway Wet Again; Sprint Cars Next
by Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI, June 15 – It’s the weekend so it must be time for it to down pour once again. Saturday night, June 15th the Rice Lake Speedway was washed out once again as storms built up in Minnesota and came rolling through the local area by afternoon. This time, the call to cancell came by 2 pm as once it started to rain, it was clear that it was not going to stop anything soon. The annual Relay at the Races, scheduled for Saturday night, will be rescheduled and that date will be announced as soon as it can be finalized.
Up next at the track will be one of the biggest bargain nights of the year as well as being one of the most varied. On Saturday night, June 22nd, Swant Graber Auto Group and Todd’s Redi-Mix present the program which will include a full show of four classes that race at the speedway on a weekly basis along with two divisions of UMSS Sprint Cars in action. Both the Winged and the Traditional Sprint Cars of the Upper Midwest Sprint Series (UMSS) will be in action at the track for the first time in several years along with the weekly classes, anxious to race since their last event at the track before the rains came was way back on June 1st. The Street Stocks will have the night off on June 22nd.
But the best news for the fans is that while all this will be happening, regular Saturday nightadmission pricing will still be in effect which makes this one of the best bargains of the year.
Pit gates open at 3 pm and the first race hits the track promptly at 6 pm. For more information, check out the speedway website or face book page for more details.
The Rice Lake Speedway is located one mile North of Rice Lake, midway between Barron County highway SS and state highway 48.
