Rice Lake Speedway Still A Question Mark For April 29th.
By Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI, April 24 – While speedway owners Dave Adams and Mitch Hansen remain hopeful that the 2023 racing season at the Rice Lake Speedway will commence on Saturday night, April 29th, that possibility still remains very much in question at the current time.
Cold weather and a destinct lack of sunshine has continued to slow drying and the track crew still needs to do much to the racing surface before the season can start. And to make matters worse, rain is in the forecast for Thursday night, Friday and Saturday of this coming week along with cold temperatures.
According to Adams, he advises to “keep monitoring the speedway website, face book page and other social media as midweek approaches” for more up to date information and a final determination.
This would also include the scheduled practice session on Wednesday night.
Whenever the first green flag flies, the speedway will again offer Saturday night racing in five WISSOTA sanctioned divisions with the first special event featuring the WISSOTA Late Models in the Trackside Collectibles 40 on Saturday night, May 13th with a top prize of two thousand dollars to the Late Model winner along with a full program in the other five divisions.
