Rice Lake Speedway Midwest Mods Get Special Event June 6th
By Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI – The Northland Super Stock Series is coming to the Rice Lake Speedway on Thursday night, June 6th. Along with that series, the WISSOTA sanctioned Midwest Modifieds will be running as the support class and the Rice Lake Speedway has provided a generous purse for their special Thursday night appearance.
The Midwest Modifieds will be racing for six hundred dollars to win their main event with a solid pay off for the rest of the field. Second place will pay five hundred dollars with tenth place paying two hundred and forty dollars and the race will pay one hundred dollars just to start the main event out of a total Midwest Modified purse of just under six thousand dollars. Adding in the Super Stock purse, the drivers will be racing for just over twelve thousand dollars on Thursday night, June 6th.
As is the speedway policy for special events this year, there will be no entry fees for the Midwest Modifieds and no increase in the pit pass fee. Spectators will also pay the regular Saturday nightticket price. The full payoff for both classes will be available on the speedway face book page.
For this Thursday night race, the pit gates will open at 4 pm with the driver cutoff being at 6:30 pm and racing to commence at 7 pm. Both divisions racing will use the draw/redraw format and national points but no track points will be awarded on Thursday night, June 6th.
