Rice Lake Speedway Hoping For April 22nd Opener
By Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI – The Rice Lake Speedway is still hoping to open their doors for the 71stconsecutive season of racing at the track on Rice Lake’s North side on Saturday night, April 22nd. A week of warm and sunny weather could go a long way in helping to dry out the facility so track crews can make final preparations to the racing surface and associated grounds. At this point, the opener is still on but race teams and fans should keep an eye on the track’s website and facebook page early next week for announcements concerning the opener and the practice night that is slated for Wednesday night, April 19th.
When the season does commence, it will be a varied and entertaining season of racing as along with an increasing number of entrants for the weekly Saturday night shows, specials are slated for the Late Models, Limited Late Models and the Sprint Cars as well as big events for the weekly classes such as the Little Dream for the Street Stocks on August 1st. An announcement on a special for the Modifieds and Midwest Modifieds is also expected soon.
The Rice Lake Speedway is located a mile North of Rice Lake midway between state highway 48 and Barron County highway SS. Call track co-owners Dave Adams at 715-205-2861 or Mitch Hansen at 715-205-1122 with any questions.
