Rain cuts short MSA’s return to Angell Park Speedway

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) May 23, 2021 – Following a nearly two-year absence, the Akright Auto of Sheboygan Falls Midwest Sprint Car Associationreturned to the legendary confines of Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. as part of the historic track’s grand reopening event on Sunday, May 23.

 

After being closed throughout the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Angell Park Speedway’s highly anticipated 2021 season opener drew a large contingent of fans eager to view racing again at one of the sport’s iconic tracks. 

 

With 22 MSA drivers signed in for the series’ eighth event of the 2021 season, three heat races were contested before rain showers hit the third-mile clay oval, forcing the cancellation of the evening’s A main. Since all preliminary and qualifying races were held, the MSA program was considered complete and points were evenly distributed to all 22 A-main competitors.

 

MS heat race victories went to Adam Miller of Plymouth, Austin Hartmann of Sheboygan Falls and Waupun’s Will Gerrits before the rains came.

 

The Akright Auto Parts of Sheboygan Falls Midwest Sprint Car Association 360 Sprint Car Series returns to action on Friday, May 28 for the inaugural Fuzzy Fassbender Classic at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, Wis.

 

Pit gates open at 3 p.m., spectator gates are set to openat 4 p.m. with warm ups at 5 p.m. and hot laps, qualifying and racing to follow with opening ceremonies slated for 6:30 p.m.

 

The following night, the MSA will complete at The Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wis. on Saturday, May 29.

 

The Military Night program will offer free admission to all members of the U.S. armed forces with a valid I.D.

 

Grandstand gates open at 3:30 p.m. with hot laps at 4:30 p.m. racing at 5 p.m.​
