Pokorski Motorsports survives strange night at Plymouth

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 15, 2016 – On a night filled with a number of unusual occurrences, Paul Pokorski and his Pokorski Motorsports experienced a roller coaster ride of ups and downs in Plymouth Dirt Track Racing action at Sheboygan County Fair Park on Saturday, June 11.

 

A total of 29 PDTR Sprint Cars checked into the pit area to do battle for the fourth time this year at The Plymouth Dirt Track. After the evening’s race program was delayed 1 hour and 45 minutes to accommodate extended track maintenance work, Pokorski found himself on the pole of the first Sprint Car heat race.

Eickberg, Jackson, Strauss and Carlson win at PDTR

Occasionally, Wi Dirt Racin receives donations from fans. When we get those donations, I like to return them to the drivers who help support us. In the past, we have offered different ways to say thanks to the fans and drivers who support us with additions to payouts, donations to local causes, giveaways and other contests.

ABC Raceway Announces Hall of Fame Class of ‘16

Ashland, WI, June 11 — The ABC Raceway announced during its race program on Saturday night that it will induct nine new members into its Hall of Fame in August.

VanStraten, Anvelink, and Lamberies Add To Win Totals

Shawano,WI,6/11/16—Big trophies courtesy of the Kim Parsons Memorial Trophy Tour were on the line for racers on Charlies County Market and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College night at the races. Travis VanStraten scored his fifth feature win of the year, Nick Anvelink and Lucas Lamberies each won their third feature of the season, while Shawn Frelich and Calvin Stueck secured win number one. Each of them left with some impressive hardware.
In Late Model action, veteran Jeff Curtin snagged the lead on the opening lap and held the top spot for the first seven laps before Doug Blashe ducked underneath Curtin and powered his way to the lead. As Blashe led, Curtin was pressured by Nick Anvelink for second. Anvelink passed Curtin on lap ten and quickly ran down Blashe to make an inside pass for the lead on lap eleven. Anvelink led the rest of the race for the win. Blashe finished in the runner-up spot. Jared Siefert, Tom Naeyaert, and Curtin took third through fifth. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

SRP TONIGHT, SUNDAY JUNE 12

Seymour, June 12 – I t looks like a perfect day has finally arrived on a Sunday.

Seymour Raceway Park is set to present a full night of racing on the 1/3/ mile banked clay oval at the Outagamie County Fairgrounds is Seymour, TONIGHT, Sunday June 12.

For the first time in four tries in 2016, weather will not be an issue for anyone. Just come on out and enjoy competing or watching the Street Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars and tonight, the INEX Wisconsin Dirt Legends, making their second appearance of the season.

BALOG’S LATE RACE CHARGE NEGATES MOCK’S VICTORY EFFORTS IN YELLOW CHECKERED FINISH!

June 11, 2016; Beaver Dam, WI – Just four weeks ago Bill Balog stood in victory lane at Beaver Dam Raceway. During the post race interview a brief snow shower fell as chilled fans watched the festivities. This evening with temperatures reaching the low 90’s at the start of the race program snow showers were the furthest thing from anyone’s thoughts. Balog didn’t seem to mind the sweltering evening, as the end result was the same, a trip to victory lane.

Tonight’s victory was the fourth of the season for Balog in Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint series competition but in the early portion of the A-main it didn’t appear that the seven-time IRA champ had the speed to finish first tonight. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Halopka Takes ABC ‘Mid-Mod Madness’ Win

Ashland, WI, June 11 — With 112 cars entered in the pit area and extra features on the docket, fans in the stands at the ABC Raceway on Saturday night probably knew they might be in for a long night with a lot of action. And they were right.
The NAPA Auto Parts Stores of Ashland & Washburn presented the tenth annual “Midwest Mod Madness” special at the northern Wisconsin speedplant, with bonus money contributed for the special event by Dalbeck Logging and Lake Shore Cafe generously spread about. In addition, the track ran its first set of make-up features from the shortened May 21 race program. As a result, it wasn’t until after midnight that Greenwood’s Shane Halopka collected the $1,000 first-place check and winner’s trophy. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…

Kilgore Takes Home $1000 for White Race Win at 141 Speedway

(Francis Creek, WI)- Shawn Kilgore took R.M. Van Pay to slide job city in the IMCA Modified White Race to pick up the $1000 pay day that came with the checkered flag.
Johnny Whitman charged from behind Kilgore and took home the second checkered flag in the IMCA Modified Finale by outrunning him on the final lap.
145 cars entered the pits to roam around the 1/3 mile. Feature winners included Kyle Frederick (IMCA Stockcars) Vince Engebregtsen (IMCA Sportmods) Tim Mueller (Grand Nationals) Paul Diefenthaler (Street Stocks) and Shaun Bangart (IMCA Sport Compacts.) ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
