GLS ‘Northern Storm,’ WLMCS Show Lost to Rain; Reslated for August 6

Superior, WI, July 21 – Just as the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series qualifying session was about to conclude, a sudden cloudburst saturated the Gondik Law Speedway and forced the cancellation of Friday’s XR “Northern Storm” Series finale.
The event, which included the annual “Twin Ports Twin 25s” special for the Late Models and included WISSOTA Modifieds and Midwest Modifieds on the docket, has been rescheduled to be run in its entirety on Sunday, August 6 – the day prior to the Speedway’s big XR Super Series Late Model special.
Fans who were in attendance at Friday’s rained-out event are offered three choices for their grandstand admission wrist bands:
- They will be honored as grandstand admission price paid-in-full for the August 6 rescheduled event;
- They can be used for grandstand admission to the upcoming Friday, July 28, program at GLS, which will begin with a meet-and-greet session with the drivers and include a $5,000-to-win WISSOTA Late Model feature (fans using their July 21 wrist band for this show will receive a $5 refund); or
- They can be mailed to Gondik Law Speedway, 4700 Tower Ave, Superior WI 54880 for a full refund.
Additional information on refunds or alternate-show use of the wristbands, as well as allowances for the pit-area wristbands, is available via the Speedway’s website, www.gondiklawspeedway.com,its FaceBook page, and its other social media outlets.
For the July 28 race program, all six of GLS’s regular weekly offerings – WISSOTA-sanctioned Super Stocks, Pure Stocks and Hornets, as well as the Late Models, Mods and Mid-Mods – will be in action. The pit gates will open at 4 pm that night, the grandstands will open at 5, and hot laps will begin at 6:30 pm followed by the meet-and-greet session, with racing action is scheduled to start shortly after 7.
