DUNBAR, ZDROIK FIRE OPENING NIGHT SALVOS AT EAGLE RIVER SPEEDWAY OPENER
(EAGLE RIVER, WI) May 29 –Marinesco, Michigan’s Marcus Dunbar led wire-to-wire and dodged a handful of caution periods to win the opening night B mod feature at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday.
Defending ERS late model champion Jason Zdroik of Eagle River slipped past Pittsville’s Eric Pember on lap 12 to take the lead and cruise to victory in the late model main.
In the stock car class Hartford’s Jimmy Zdroik came out of a 10-year hiatus and earned a thrilling victory in the stock car main. At one point Zdroik went three wide and swapped the lead for several circuits with defending division champion David Blackberg of Eagle River and hometown racer Ryan Brown.
Rhinelander’s Jason Melton scored a caution free victory in the pure stock feature while Sugar Camp’s Jason Eisel captured the street stock feature win.
The 300 micro features were captured by Twin Lakes, Michigan’s Carter Aho and Boulder Junction’s Katherine Towne.
Merrill’s Jordan Mahn wheeled his Chevy Nova to a clean sweep in the Vintage Dairyland Series action, copping the heat and feature win.
Racing will resume Tuesday, June 7 with the first green flag set to fly at 7:30 p.m. It will be bike giveaway night as dozens of bikes will be given away to the kids in the popular “School’s Out” night.
