| Brad Erickson Menomonie, Wisconsin, on May 06, 2022, the Red Cedar Speedway presented the Kim Parsons Memorial Tour Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Night sponsored by both Thunder Hill and Rice Lake Speedways. The WISSOTA Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, and the RCS Hornets were all in attendance. There were double features scheduled in five classes due to a rainout the week prior, and all but the Late Models got them in as the curfew forced their feature to be rescheduled to a later date. The WISSOTA Late Models ran a make-up feature from the rain out on April 29, 2022, when Shane Edington and Mark Hessler had topped the heats in the Randy Buss Ice Breaker Classic. It was Sam Mars from fourth taking command of the feature early in the running. As the laps ran off, Mark Hessler closed from his sixth starting position and swept into the lead. Mars didn’t go away as he drove hard to retake the point, but it was Hessler’s night to take the checkered flag. Mars came home a solid second over seventh starting Jim Carlson and eleventh starting John Kaanta. Nick Panitzke rounded out the top five. The May 06, 2022, WISSOTA Late Model Feature was postponed due to curfew. It will be made up on May 20, 2022. The heats on this evening were won by Greg Nippoldt and Sam Mars.Ashley Anderson and Shane Halopka won the April 29, 2022, heats and Steve Hallquist lead early in the make-up feature. It was Halopka splitting two cars to overtake second and then quickly running down Hallquist and overtake the lead. Two quick spins slowed the racing action and after the second restart, Daniel Bargender powered to the lead. Bargender began to build an advantage over Halopka as Ashley Anderson raced door to door with Hallquist for third.Halopka began to cut into the lead and was able to wrestle it away, but before a lap was scored the caution flag flew again for debris. Bargender restarted in the lead, but Halopka wasn’t done. He again moved to the point and Bargender became involved in a side-by-side battle with Anderson for second. Anderson overtook the position and began to close on the leader and with two laps remaining was glued to his tail. Another spin slowed the pace and Halopka was able to get away on the restart. Anderson was locked into a battle with Bargender throughout the green, white, checkered run as Halopka flashed under the checkered flag for the win. Anderson beat Bargender as they were followed by Paul Niznik and Cory Williams. Bargender didn’t clear tech, was disqualified and Hallquist was scored in fifth. In the regular nights action, Bargender and Cole Anderson were heat winners in the WISSOTA Modifieds. The feature was led early by Kerry Hansen as C. Anderson set chase, followed by Cory Williams. A quick caution slowed the pace and after the restart, second running C. Anderson retired from the event. It was Bargender moving into second and closing on the leader. He moved to the lead and began to drive away by several car lengths. Bargender drove to the win and on the final lap, Hansen got out of the groove and Williams snuck by for second. Hansen finished third over Ashley Anderson and Jack Rivord. The WISSOTA Super Stock April 29, 2022, make-up Feature saw a first lap caution but once green it was Terran Spacek taking the lead and never looking back in a dominating performance. Dan Nissalke and Dexton Koch initially raced door to door before the position was secured by Nissalke who drove home in second. Koch finished third over Jesse Redetzke and Matthew Larson. The heats had been topped by Nissalke and Kyle Copp. The regular night’s events heats were won by Terran Spacek and Koch and in the feature, Kyle Copp took the lead from the pole. Jesse Redetzke challenged as Ben Hillman settled into third. A caution reset the field and the restart provided three wide racing up front. Copp settled into the lead again as Spacek took over the runner up position. Spacek was looking to double up on the evening and he got his nose under the leader, but Copp was strong and continued out front. Spacek adjusted and used the middle line and drove to the lead. However, a Brandon Duellman breakdown on the front stretch drew the caution and Copp was reinstated as the leader for the restart. On the restart, Redetzke raced Spacek for the runner up position as Copp regained a solid grasp of the lead. It was Copp leading to the checkered flag securing the win as Spacek finished second over Redetzke. Cory Davis drove from ninth to fourth as Ben Hillman rounded out the top five. The WISSOTA Street Stocks were the only class to finish their feature the week before and, on this night, it was Cody Kummer and Braden Brauer winning heats. Brauer started on the pin of the main event and once he survived an early challenge by second starting Danny Richards, he made it look easy out front. There was a caution at the halfway point to keep everyone close, but Brauer scored the win. Andrew Hanson overtook Richards as Kyle Genett raced from eleventh to finish fourth. Cody Kummer rounded out the top five. The April 29, 2022, Midwest Modified heats were topped by Nick Ayotte, Shadow Kitchner, and Brady Larson. It was Kitchner starting on the pole, jumping to an early lead, and never looking back, as he dominated the feature event. Mike Wildmann, Jesse Bryan, Derek Haas, and David Simpson each finished in the top five by comfortable margins. The May 06, 2022, WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature was lead from the drop of the green to the checkered flag by Austin Chyba over Zach Benson, Nick Ayotte, and Mike Wildmann. Benson failed tech and was disqualified, therefore, fifteenth starting Cole Chernosky finished fourth and Matt Klukas was scored in fifth. The heats were won by Benson, Wildmann, Chyba, and Kitchner, as a B-Feature saw CJ Wagner grabbing the checkered flag.On April 29, 2022, the RCS Hornets ran two heats won by Scott Cooper and Brett Mickelson. They started their feature, scored three of ten laps, and the rains fell. They picked up on May 06, 2022, where they had left off as Scott Cooper led Roy Cooper for the lead. It was twelfth starting Carter Matthews racing through the crowd and over taking second position, and then overtaking the lead. Carter now led R. Cooper in second, and S. Cooper in third. On the final lap, R. Cooper moved beside the leader as they raced evenly down the backstretch. R. Cooper was able to clear for the lead through the last corners and won the race down the front stretch to the checkered flag. Carter finished second, S. Cooper, third, and Jason Helgeson and Vanessa Seipel finished in the top five. The current nights feature was won by Jason Bauer from the sixth position. He beat Jason Helgeson, Jason Holte, and Roy and Scott Cooper. The heats were won by Bauer, Helgeson, and R. Cooper. The Dirt Kings Late Model Tour invades the Red Cedar Speedway on May 13, 2022, joining the local WISSOTA Late Models. In addition, the WISSOTA Modifieds, Super Stocks, and Midwest Modifieds will be on the card. The racing action will be sponsored by 715 Ag Supply and Ron Prochnow Family Farms.WISSOTA Late Model Feature for 05/06/2022 was postponed due to time limits and will be run later.05/06/2022 Heat 1 (8 Laps): 1. 55N-Greg Nippoldt[3]; 2. 85-John Kaanta[2]; 3. 27-Jake Redetzke[7]; 4. 15-Steve Hucovski[5]; 5. 65-Jake Miller[6]; 6. 92-Aaron Wilson[4]; 7.
