Dave Bouche and Randy LeMieux Jr lead the way at the Hill

By Edward Anschutz

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) 6/19/21 Hill Raceway Race Report – Everyone at the Hill would like to congratulate Randy Guelette, Augie Derenne and Charlie Kroll on entering the Hall of Fame. The “Bulldozer” Dave Bouche led the final 15 laps of the Stock Car feature to earn his first win of the season.

There were 94 cars checked in to do battle at the Hill Raceway.  There were 28 Stock Cars, 19 Sport Mods, 12 Bombers, 29 Unified StreetStocks and 6 Vintage Modifieds. Our next night of racing will be on Saturday, July 10th.

Kerry Douglas set the pace in early in the Stock Car feature as John Adams and Dave Bouche gave chase. With Douglas working the top groove Adams and Bouche worked low. Bouche was able to find some extra grip on the extreme low side, making it a 3-wide battle for the lead with Adams and Douglas. Bouche was able to take sole possession of the lead on lap 5. Bouche pulled away to score his first win of the season and a clean sweep of the night. Adams had his best run of the summer to place second, Eric Arneson secured third late in the going, Charlie Kroll took a solid fourth and point leader Brett Wenzel came through a last chance qualifier to place fifth.  The contest went green to checker.

“Rowdy” Randy Theys raced to the lead early in the Sport Mod feature until a caution on lap 5 slowed the field. “The Kid” Randy LeMieux Jr went to work on Theys. LeMieux was able to slip by on lap 9 and never looked back, scoring his first win of the season. Craig Dorner had to settle for second at the pay window, with a third-place finish Jeff Vlies took over the point lead, Theys was fourth and rookie Roger LaViolette completed the top five.

Dave DeGrave took the lead from Nathan Delsart on lap 4 of the Unified Street Stock feature. DeGrave held off a hard charging Troy Muench to score his second feature win of the season. Muench borrowed a car from Paul Diefenthaler and with a second-place finish took over the point lead. Dan Van Pay placed third, Shanon Guelette was fourth and Tyler Fox finished fifth.

After rolling over on night 2, David Cox found redemption in the Bombers. Cox jumped to the lead on the opening lap and cruised to his first trophy of the year. The race went green to checker.

Jeff Allard held off both his sons Darrin Allard and Jeremy Allard late in the going to take him top honors in the Vintage Modifieds.
