Autograph Session Flag Giveaway Added To Wilmot Raceway’s IRA Founders Night Presented By Body Craft

(Wilmot, Wis., Friday, May 24, 2024)–A autograph session and US Flag Giveaway is planned as part of the Bumper to Bumper IRA Founders Night Presented by Body Craft of Antioch, IL Saturday, May 25 at Wilmot Raceway. AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLESS Sprints and 11-75 Sports Bar IRA Lightning Sprints round out the Memorial Day weekend all sprint car spectacular. Founders Night is in recognition Whitey Harris, and the late Ray Toft and Junior Dodd, the original trio who began the IRA over 50 years ago.  The IRA’s home track has been, and continues to be, Wilmot Raceway on the Kenosha County Fairgrounds.

When the grandstands open at 4 pm until 4:45 p.m., drivers from all three IRA classes are asked to come to the grandstand concourse area to sign autographs and hand out US Flags.  The US Flags are courtesy of A-1 Apparel and Diecast Tennyson Family along with Mike Babicz and Cathy Landgren of Let’s Go Racing Motorsports Report.

BJ Johnson, longtime member and coordinator of the Wilmot Raceway ambulance crew, will have information available on the Stars & Stripes Honor Flight which he flew on as a veteran last fall.

Past IRA drivers, crew members and staff will be available for bench racing.  Some cars from past years will be on display.

This year marks the 11th IRA Founders Night with the perennial trophy sponsored by the Southeastern Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Fame on display.  The May 25 IRA Outlaw Sprint Car feature winner’s name will be added to the trophy which is returned to the Hall of Fame display at the museum in Hartford.

For updates or advance tickets check the track website wilmotraceway.com, the official Wilmot Raceway Facebook page and the trackside race line 262-862-2090.
