Aug. 20th Hill Raceway Championship Night / 400th Stock Car Feature / Busch Shootout

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) August 18, 2022 Press Release- The Hill Raceway is set crown champions in all five divisions this Saturday, August 20th. The 400th Stock Car feature will be run and one lucky driver will etch their name in the record books. The Modifieds, Stock Cars, Sport Mods, Unified Street Stocks and Sport Compacts will be in action. Racing starts at 6:00PM. 

 

Todd Dart looks to add to his championship total in the Modifieds as he holds a 6-point margin over Jeff Bodendorfer.  

 

Brett Wenzel looks to earn his 3rd title in a row in the Stock Cars. Wenzel needs to qualify for the feature to secure championship. Kyle Resch sits second, 28 points back.  

 

The closest point battle comes in the Sport Mods where defending champ Randy LeMieux Jr has a slim 4-point advantage over Craig Dorner. Dorner is a is also a former champ. Rookie Alec Wery is still in the hunt, 17 markers back.  

 

Dave DeGrave holds a commanding 30-point advantage over Dan Van Pay in the Unified Street Stocks. DeGrave only needs to take the green flag in his heat to earn the title.  

 

In the Sport Compacts, it’s Calvin Stueck with a 9-point lead over Scott Schlafke and Michael Plate Jr.  

 

The postponed Sport Mod Busch Shootout will take place after the final feature of the night. These are the drivers locked into the Shootout; Randy LeMieux Jr, Craig Dorner, Alec Wery, Jeff Vlies, Bernie Reinhardt, Cole Czarneski, Randy Theys, Sean Falk, Dustin Woodstruck, George Henkle, Cody Rass and Mike Plate. The winner will take home (6)-30 packs of Busch Light, $100 and a trophy. Starting positions will be drawn at the drivers meeting.
