Tuesday Special Next For Wilmot Raceway
(Wilmot, Wis., Saturday, June 26, 2021)–A pre-Independence Day Holiday Tuesday special, June 29, is planned next up for Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis. Twin features for the Autometer-Brewington Electric Wisconsin Wingless Sprints headline the program. Modifeds and Bandit 4-Cylinder Stock Cars are on the card as well.
On June 29, a huge fireworks show is scheduled to conclude the evening. Wilmot is off the weekend of July 4. The Raceway’s second annual carload admission of $25.00 per car for everyone who has a seatbelt is planned. Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m. with hot laps slated for 6:00 p.m. and racing at 6:30 p.m. Racing Roundup radio show is scheduled to broadcast live from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The June 29 event follows the track’s first cancellation of the season on Saturday, June 26 when rains and a poor forecast for the remainder of the evening forced Raceway officials to call of the program. Going into the Tuesday special, Kansasville’s Ryan Marshall, a second year driver, leads the Wingless Sprints Wilmot standings with 1,039 points. Tim Cox of Park City, IL is second at 998. Jimmy Sivia of Winthrop Harbor, IL third with 947. Undefeated Chris Carlson of Caledonia who has won all seven modified feature events this season, is comfortably atop the division standings with 872 points. Genoa City’s Mike Simons is second at 753, six points ahead of third place Nick Simons, Mike’s younger brother, who has 747. John Cole of McHenry, IL leads the Bandits with 551 points. Scott Ellis of Lake Villa, IL is second with 526. Third is David McKellips of Mt. Pleasant with 519. Coming up on Saturday, July 10 is the Badger 40 for the NOS World of Outlaw Sprint Cars. The IRA Lightning Sprints Wilmot points are being headed by Nick Petska of Spring Grove, IL with 696 points. Ion Stear of Hebron, IL is second with 667. Mark Heinert of Oak Creek is third at 656. In the Wilmot street stocks, which are off until July 17, Rob Maule of Hebron is first with 582. Muskego’s Courtney Atkinson second with 506. Big Bend’s Mark Baker third at 501.
