Alex Pokorski equals career-best PDTR 360 Sprint Car A-main showing

(PEDAL DOWN PROMOTIONS) June 8, 2021 – One week after qualifying for his first Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car A-main event of the 2021 season, second-year Pokorski Motorsports co-driver Alex Pokorski duplicated his career-best A-main showing with a 16th-place finish in the 25-lap headliner on Saturday, June 5 at The Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wis.

Pokorski, who was one of 32 PDTR 360 Sprint Car competitors to sign in for the event, which was run in support of the annual appearance of the national touring FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprint Car Series, started fifth in the fourth 10-lap PDTR 360 heat race.

On lap 3, Pokorski fell back to seventh before the yellow flag appeared on lap 5. After restarting seventh, Pokorski bolted up to the outside groove to power around Will Gerrits and Lance Fassbender in turn two to regain fifth in the running order.

The bold move helped Pokorski secure the fifth spot at the finish and a berth in the 25-lap A main for the second straight week and fifth time in his young career.

The West Bend driver rolled off sixth in the main event and worked the high and middle groove throughout the event, while engaging in a race-long duel with Lance Fassbender for 15th place.

On lap 6, Pokorski worked around Fassbender to take the 15th spot. However, Fassbender battled back to regain the spot on lap 16. Pokorski went on to finish an A-main career-best 16th in the caution-free race, which was won by Travis Arenz.

“A lot of the racing was on the bottom, so I was trying to make the middle work to pass people,” Pokorski said. “It was a fun night because the heat race went well and I got to do some close racing with the 7 car [Lance Fassbender] in the feature. Currently, I’m working on trying to be more consistent and make in-race adjustments, such as changing my line or wing position quicker to make the car faster.”

The Pokorski Motorsports team will return to The Plymouth Dirt Track .at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, Wis. with Alex Pokorskiagain slated to be behind the wheel this Saturday, June 12.

Grandstand gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m.
