(EAGLE RIVER, WI) July 7 – Hometown driver Bruce Belland passed Steve Altman for the lead and lap four and fended off stiff challenges from Marcus Dunbar and defending track champion Jesse Aho to capture the B mod feature at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday night.

The contest was slowed twice by a pair of caution periods but on the restarts Belland protected the bottom and pulled off the win. Dunbar settled for runner up money at the pay window. Aho took third, followed by hometown drivers Tad Schoonover and Jonathon Miller who placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Dunbar, pulling double duty wheeling an ERS late model as well, led every lap en route to victory in the track’s newest fendered division. The feature went green to checkered.

Boulder Junction’s Mark “The Angry American” Schuenemann pulled off the upset in the stock car division, thwarting off a last lap charge from 2019 track champion “Hot Rod” Snellenberger. Snellenberger had been charged with a lap four yellow and fought his way back through the field but came up short at the checkers finishing second.

Hometown drivers David Blackberg, Ryan Valeria and Ryan Glembin rounded out the top five finishers.

Eagle River’s Ryan Brown took the lead at the drop of the green in the Unified street stock feature and never looked back, winning the caution free event. Dave Dishaw, Jason Eisel, Tristan Valeria and Rob Rodziczak placed second through fifth, respectively.

The 300 Junior Micro sprints saw a pair of clean sweeps as the field was split, with Mercer’s Aeden Schmidt and Eagle River’s Hayden “Bubba” Halsey each scoring clean sweeps in the winged division.

Eagle River Speedway racing resumes next Tuesday night, July 14. The first green flag will fly at 730 p.m. Fans are encouraged to please check the track’s Facebook page or you can email patzdroik@yahoo.com or call (715) 891 1870.
