Rice Lake Speedway Increases Late Model Pay For June 6 Event
By Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI, June 1 – The Rice Lake Speedway announced this morning an increase in the Late Model purse for the upcoming WISSOTA Late Model event scheduled for Saturday night, June 6th. This race, which was just announced to the public yesterday, has already added some money to the purse.
According to track co-owner Dave Adams, “I’ve been contacted by several fine businesses that want to see Late Model racing at Rice Lake and have been more than willing to throw in some money to help us achieve our goal of providing a solid field of competitors for this coming Saturday night’s show. Late Models don’t race here weekly, and we need to make it economically feasible for them to tow here to Rice Lake.”
According to Adams, the Late Model feature race will now pay $2,000 to win and offer $200 just to start the main. “We will pay the regular WISSOTA Challenge Series purse so the drivers will know exactly what they are racing for,” further stated Adams.
Four other WISSOTA sanctioned classes will also provide a full weekly program with only the Modifieds taking the night off in deference to the appearance of the Late Models.
Special event pricing for the spectators will be posted on the track face book page soon, so fans can refer to that page for other pertinent information also.
Warm ups begin at 6:30 pm with racing to follow. The Rice Lake Speedway is located one mile North of Rice Lake Wisconsin between state highway 48 and Barron County SS.
