Rice Lake Speedway Schedule Updates Announced

By Ed Reichert

Rice Lake WI – Rice Lake Speedway LLC has announced several schedule updates as they make adjustments to the remainder of the 2024 racing season schedule at the Rice Lake Speedway. A number of the changes have been made as a result of the many rainouts that the track has suffered so far this year as they attempt to reschedule some of the events lost to the weather.

The first change impacts the July 27th program with the highlight event that night being the second and final appearance of the WISSOTA Late Models to the track this year. Originally both the Modifieds and Street Stocks were scheduled to have that night off but that has now been changed as the Modifieds have been returned to the program.

According to speedway spokesman Kolby Kiehl, track management has received a number of requests by Modified drivers from the area that the Modifieds be allowed to race on that night, as the Modified drivers have been particularly hard hit at the track by the many rainouts and as the season winds down, they would like to race one additional night. So they have been added to the program on July 27th with it being a fully sanctioned program by WISSOTA for the Modifieds. The Late Models will also be joined by the Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks with now just the Street Stocks getting the night off in preparation for the Little Dream race on July 30th.

The other change involves the year end program, the Dairyland Dash special which will be a two day program at the track on August 31st and September 1st. The adjustment in the schedule will find the UMSS Sprints, both the Traditionals and the Winged Sprints, racing a full program on Saturday night, August 31st. Then on Sunday night, September 1st. the USRA Late Models will run a fully sanctioned program. The Sprints were originally scheduled to run at the track on June 22nd but that program was rained out and they will now be a part of the Saturday Labor Day weekend event.

The USRA Late Models will be making their first appearance at the track in 2024, having last raced at the speedway twice in 2023.

Along with those two divisions, full shows for the WISSOTA Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks and Modifieds will be held both days. Look for more information including purse information and other details of what will be a memorable wrap up to the first year of Rice Lake Speedway LLC’s ownership of the track to be announced soon. Also, title sponsors for the Late Model program and Dairyland Dash will soon be announced also.
