Rice Lake Speedway Seeks Mother Nature To Cooperate
By Ed Reichert
Rice Lake WI, April 22 – The Rice Lake Speedway is ready to begin their seventy second consecutive season of providing dirt track racing action to the fans of Northwestern Wisconsin. Right now, all they ask for is a little cooperative from the weather to achieve that goal.
“The track is ready to go,” stated track co-promoter Kolby Kiehl on Monday morning. “All we need right now is some dry weather so we can get the cars on the track and start the season.” All the projects are nearing completion and while a couple, including the new tech building won’t be fully completed by opening night, it is close enough to that goal to be usuable.
A practice session is hoped for on Tuesday night, April 23rd from 6-9 pm with all drivers and teams welcome. If the weather does not cooperate on Tuesday, the practice will be moved back to Thursday night, April 25th at the same times.
The seventy second annual opener is slated for Saturday night, April 27th with a scheduled start time of 6 pm.
As always, racers and fans should follow the speedway face book page and website at www.ricelakespeedway.net for the latest information and announcements.
