HERRMANN CALLS IT QUITS WITH MANITOWOC EXPO’S LAKESHORE MOTORSPORTS SHOW
(Show promoter to throw his support behind Derek Moede and Luxemburg’s Racing show)
(Green Bay, WI) September 7 – After eight years of putting on one of the Lakeshore’s top off season racing show’s organizer Greg Herrmann recently announced that he will no longer be promoting the show, which was typically run the last week of January at the Manitowoc County Expo.
Instead the former racer and car owner will throw his support behind Luxemburg racer Derek Moede’s Luxemburg racing show. Moede’s show, which typically would be hosted in March will bump up to Saturday, January 27 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds Expo building in Luxemburg.
At its peak Herrmann’s Expo show, which he co-promoted with his partner Joe Roberts, would typically draw 800 racing enthusiasts who would check out the more than 50 racing-related vendors.
“It’s something I didn’t get rich doing but we did it for the love of the sport and to keep things rolling,” said Herrmann. “Joe Roberts has been my partner in this deal since day one and it was a mutual decision between us to pull the pin. In the eight years we ran it we were lucky in that we only had two years where we were plagued by bad weather. It’s been a good run. My rent went up a little bit each year, as did a few other expenses. It’s just time to step back.”
Moede will host the Luxemburg Racing show for the third year. The show will take place Saturday, January 27th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Expo building located at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds in Luxemburg. In 2017 close to 500 people made their way through the doors of the show in its first year.
Further details are expected to be released in the coming weeks on this show, which will allow racers to buy/sell or trade new or used race parts, equipment and supplies. The heated expo building, located on the east end of the fairgrounds, provides ample space for tables, booths and exhibits.
Parking is free with food and beverages prepared and sold by the FFA Algoma Alumni.
Adult admission is $3.00 (including vendors). Kids 12 and under are admitted free. Vendor tables are $20 and can be obtained by calling Derek Moede at (920) 639 4455. You can become a member of the group “Luxemburg Racing Show” through Facebook as well. All up-to-date information regarding the show, including new vendors who sign up, will be released through this Facebook page.
