HAYES & DEGRAVE DOMINATE AT THE HILL RACEWAY

(Sturgeon Bay, WI) 7/6/17 Race Report- Dave “The Hammer” DeGrave not only scored the win in the first ever Street Stock Bud Shootout, he also scored the A-Main win. Other feature winners were Kelsy Hayes-Sport Mod. The Stock Car and Baby Bomber features were rained out. Congratulations to John Gregorich, Greg Curzon and Brad Anderegg as they were inducted into the our Hall of Fame.

The Hill is racing on Friday July 14 with a 7:00pm start time. Stock Cars, Sport Mods, Street Stocks and Baby Bombers will be in action. Stock Cars will have they’re Bud Shootout at the end of the night. Top 5 in points coming into the night are locked in, top 5 in the feature not already transferred will move on along with track provisionals. 
Eric Derks led the opening lap of the Street Stock headliner. Dave DeGrave raced by Derks on lap 2 for the top spot. The duo made contact exiting turn 4 which sent both drivers spinning. Derks was charged with the caution and was unable to continue with front suspension damage. DeGrave was given his spot back. As the race restarted DeGrave checked out on the field, cruising to a clean sweep and his first win of the season. John Gregorich returned to The Hill for first time in many years to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Gregorich got behind the wheel of the John Hill Street Stock, racing to an impressive second place finish. Bill Hayes in his first visit of the season brought home third, Ford Malvitz was fourth and Ryan Manthei took fifth. With the win DeGrave took over the point lead.
Kelsy “Hollywood” Hayes led every lap of the Sport Mod feature as she also scored a clean sweep. A couple cautions slowed the field mid-race, but no one had anything for Hayes. Jarred VanLaanen had a strong second, Cody Rass raced to third, point leader Tom Stark was fourth and Craig Dorner rallied late to place

 fifth.
