Races and Fireworks rained out

One of the biggest nights at Eagle River Speedway every year is the Friday Night races that are a part of the 4th of July Weekend.  It was ‘Mother Nature’ that took the checkered flag as this past Friday Night’s races and the big Fireworks show was cancelled due to rain throughout the day.

The Auto Value Parts Stores of Eagle River and Rhinelander presentation of the races and fireworks will be rescheduled for this coming Friday Night.  The legendary 1/3rd mile Tri-Oval will run the WISSOTA Sanctioned Midwest Modifieds, Street Stock, and Pure Stock classes, along with the high-speed, methanol-burning Sprint 600’s, and the children racing the Junior Sprints.

After the races in all 5 classes, Harry’s Fireworks will light up the sky with a fantastic Fireworks show.

“This non-stop fireworks show has been a big fan favorite for years, and we’re excited to reschedule for this coming Friday night,” commented Eagle River Speedway Promoter, Kevin Dawson.

The track championship is close in many of the classes.  In the WISSOTA Midwest Modified class, the defending class champion for the last 5 years, Jesse Aho, of Toivola, Michigan, is in tight race to defend his crown.  Aho has 312 points, Jerry Grasse of Phelps, Wisconsin, has 310.  Marcus Dunbar of Wakefield, Michigan, is close behind at 302, with Duane Dunbar of Marenisco, Michigan is at 298.

Hot lap will begin at 7:00 p.m. Central time, with racing to begin at 7:30 p.m. CT.
