ABC Raceway Cancer Fundraiser Washed Out
Ashland, WI, June 30 — Due to the significant amount of precipitation in the Chequamegon Bay area over the past few weeks, and with a forecast calling for even more rain, the Board of Directors for the ABC Raceway regretfully cancelled its “Race to a Cure” cancer awareness and research fundraiser race program scheduled for Friday night.
The annual fundraiser, to be sponsored by Northern Clearing Inc of Ashland along with Heartland Communications of Ashland, has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 29, to be held in conjunction with the Raceway’s fourth annual Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
There will be no races at the ABC Raceway on Saturday, July 1, but PolyDome Dirt Track Series racing will resume here on July 8 with a full five-division WISSOTA-sanctioned program that will include kids’ bike races, to be presented by Chicago Iron & Supply of Ashland.
Hot laps will be at 6:15 pm, followed by green-flag action at 7. “Z-93 Race Night” will air live on WBSZ, 93.3 FM, and stream online at www.wbszfm.com, from 4:30-6 pm with at-the-track news and weather updates.
The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road. For more information log onto the track’s website, www.abcraceway.com, or call (715) 682-4990 on race days.
