Rice Lake Speedway Resets Race Schedule

Rice Lake WI – Rain outs and rain shortened events of late have thrown schedule makers at the Rice Lake Speedway for a loop as they struggle to find dates so that all their weather affected events can be rescheduled. They now have a plan in place for upcoming events in the next few weeks.

This coming Saturday night, July 1st, will be a Super Stock special purse event while the Modifieds have the night off. The Super Stock feature will pay one thousand dollars to the winners and it will a hundred dollars just to start the main event. With several tracks either off or not running Super Stocks this coming Saturday, a full field of talented competitors is expected. This will be a draw/redraw lineup race.

Along with the Super Stocks, a full program of racing will also occur for the Midwest Modifieds, Street Stocks and Pure Stocks. Plus, on top of all that, the three makeup feature races for the Street Stocks, Pure Stocks and Midwest Modifieds from the June 17th rain shortened program will also be held. The Street Stock feature will be restarted from the point where the rains made the track too slick to continue while the Pure Stocks and Midwest Modifieds have full races to run.

On Monday night, July 3rd, one of the highlight races of the year will be held with the running of the annual Firecracker race. Along with a full show in all five classes that regularly run at the speedway, the annual spectacular fireworks display will again be presented. This is always one of the highlight events of the local racing season and fans are encouraged to get to the track early to secure their favorite seats.

The following Saturday, July 8th another full five class program of racing will be held and along with the regular events, the two remaining makeup features from June 17th, for the Super Stocks and Modifieds ,will also be held.

Kid’s Night, scheduled for June 24th and rained out, has been rescheduled for July 15th and as of press time, seventy bikes have already been donated to be given away on that night to our young race fans.

Lots of racing is scheduled in the next few weeks for the Rice Lake Speedway, now the track just needs some cooperation from the weatherman.
