(Manitowoc, WI) – The eighth annual Lakeshore Motorsports Show, Sale & Swap is slated to take place at the Manitowoc County Expo’s Merchants Building Saturday January 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Last year saw nearly 800 racing enthusiasts make their way through the event – a record since the show was first put on in 2009.

Approximately 100 tables filled with roughly 50 different racing-related vendors will be on hand. Several dozen people will be there to buy, sell and trade racing parts of all types.

A silent auction will be held for Whitelaw’s Matt Schuh, a racer who passed away unexpectedly last summer at the age of 27. Among the items to be auctioned off will be many racing-related items, and also some non-racing related things, such as a 50 inch flat screen TV. Donations will also be taken for the silent auction. All proceeds will go to the Schuh family, which includes Schuh’s young daughter. The cutoff time for people to partake in the silent auction will be 2 p.m.

Among the several dozen vendors will be motorsports author Joe Verdegan of Green Bay. Verdegan will have his latest book “Wisconsin International Raceway – Where The Big Ones Run” for sale along with his first book he completed in 2015 “Life In The Past Lane – a history of stock car racing in Northeast Wisconsin from 1950-1980.” Joining Verdegan at his book signing will be multi-time WIR champions Scott Hansen of Green Bay, Omro’s Terry Baldry and Neenah’s Lowell Bennett. Former Alan Kulwicki car owner/crew chief Mike Randerson will also be on hand along with former sportsman champion and current Fox River Racing Club president Jim Duchow, among others.

All three IMCA divisions will be represented through race track manufacturers with that class of race car,” said show organizer Greg Herrmann. “The show serves as a traditional off season “gathering” for the Northeast Wisconsin racing community.” Food and drink will be served at this show. Adult admission is $5.00. Kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult.

Parking on the Expo grounds is also free for the day. Limited space is still available for vendors.
