Friday Night’s races cancelled
on August 19, 2016 at 6:06 pmWith rain cancelling Friday Night’s races at Eagle River Speedway, this coming Friday Night will be a busy night at the popular Northern Wisconsin Tri-Oval.
The Fan Autograph night will be rescheduled for the second time. Fans will have the chance to go on the track and get autographs and pictures of the Stock Cars and the racers at this Friday Night’s races.
“It’s not just the kids that love to meet the racers, but some of our racers have gifts they give out to the fans,” commented Eagle River Speedway Promoter, Kevin Dawson.
The final night of the Eagle River Speedway WISSOTA Street Stock Challenge Series that was scheduled to run this past Friday Night, will run this coming Friday Night. This special 2-race series has its own point series and has an additional purse of $1500.00. This will now run this coming Friday Night.
Central Wisconsin’s Kyle Gennet won the first WISSOTA Street Stock Challenge Feature. Kyle (Gennet) of Auburndale held off his brother, Karl, to win that race back on July 15th.
The Eagle River Speedway WISSOTA Midwest Modified Challenge Series final race will also take place this coming Friday Night. The 3-race series is similar to the Street Stock Challenge Series and has an additional purse of over $2000.00. Jerry Grasse of Phelps has won the first two races. The top 5 drivers will share in the additional purse.
The Speedway Trucks that were to run this past Friday will run this Friday Night. Herb Dettman of Pelican Lake won the Speedway Truck Feature on July 22nd. WISSOTA Midwest Modified racer, James Koga of Eagle River, will make his return to Speedway Truck racing this coming Friday Night. Koga rolled his Midwest Modified over a month ago. The car ended up on its roof. Koga received minor injuries and his Midwest Modified car received considerable damage.
“I’ll be back on the track, but will be in the Speedway Truck,” commented Koga.
This Friday Night the Sport Quads will make their debut on the Tri-Oval. This low-profile, racing performance ATV’s raced at the track last year. Rain-outs on night’s they were scheduled to race earlier this year have prevented them from running prior to this coming Friday Night.
The Spectator One-On-One races that were to run this past Friday Night will not be re-scheduled for this coming Friday Night.
The final races of the year will be the Points Championship in all 5 of the weekly classes. That will be on Friday Night, September 2nd.
