WILMOT, Wisc. — July 18, 2016 — The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series invades Wilmot Raceway in Wisconsin next week for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Badger 40 on Saturday, July 30. The series recently began the “Month of Money” with four events in Ohio that saw three different drivers pick up wins.

Donny Schatz, the seven-time and defending series champion, opened the “Month of Money” with a win in the Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway Park on July 12. Schatz charged from the 15th starting spot to pick up the win over Dale Blaney and Daryn Pittman, who came from the 25th starting spot to finish on the podium.

David Gravel scored his fourth win of the season on July 14 in the inaugural Jokers Wild event at the famed Eldora Speedway. Gravel, who started on the pole, led all 30 laps to pick up the win over Schatz and fan-favorite Rico Abreu.

Pittman was victorious in the Knight Before the Kings Royal on July 15. The 2013 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series champion dominated the 30-lap race, with Schatz and Abreu again finishing second and third, respectively.

In the $50,000-to-win Kings Royal on July 16, it was Schatz picking up the checkered flag in the famed event for the third time in his career. The North Dakota native held off a hard-charging Abreu down the stretch, with Brad Sweet finishing third. The 40-lap race saw four different drivers trade the lead.

With his strong week, Schatz extended his lead in the series standings to 186 points over Brad Sweet. David Gravel used his win at Eldora to move into the third spot in points. Pittman is fourth in points, just three markers behind Gravel, while Shane Stewart is fifth, 26 points out of the fourth spot. The reminder of the top-10 is Joey Saldana, Jason Johnson, Jason Sides, Logan Schuchart and Paul McMahan.

The “Month of Money” continues this week for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series with the $25,000-to-win Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup at Lernerville Speedway in Western Pennsylvania. The series then heads to the historic Williams Grove Speedway in Central Pennsylvania for the Summer Nationals, which will see the winner also receive $25,000.
