GRUDGE RACE ADDED TO SRP SUNDAY LINUEP JULY 10
on July 9, 2016 at 7:52 pmSeymour, July 9 – Seymour Raceway Park is the place to be tomorrow, Sunday July 10, for a full night of racing action on the 1/3 mile banked clay oval.
The forecast is for another beautiful summer evening to enjoy all of the excitement that only dirt track racing can provide.
The Grand National Stock Cars are joining the regular program of Street Stock, IMCA Sport Mod and Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars this week.
A “discussion” on who would be better between the Street Stocks and Grand Nationals has spawned a Grudge Race which will pit three GN cars from the Richards Racing team shop against a SS team of current SRP point leader, Jeff Jungwirth, Steve Ecker and a yet to be named third driver.
The race will be a 6 lap event run after their respective features and the IMCA Sport Mod main event. The Coors Light IMCA Stock Cars will follow.
It has been a couple years since the GN cars were at Seymour and so the experience of the SS would seem to give that division the upper hand. But, Ecker, has not run here, but is been a top runner at Oshkosh, along with Jungwirth. And the yet to be named third driver is the wild card.
Even though set up in the spirit of competition, it will still be serious business once the green flag waves. Besides a trophy for the winner, more importantly, will be the bragging rights that will go along with it.
