Thunderstorms Spoil Sixes’ Sizzler Night at ABC
on June 26, 2016 at 10:24 amAshland, WI, June 25 — A violent thunderstorm rolled through northern Ashland County just as the Six-Cylinders had completed their time trials and wiped out what was set to be a very busy night of stock car racing and more at the ABC Raceway on Saturday night.
The full five-division PolyDome Dirt Track Series program, which was to be presented by Lake Shore Cafe of Ashland, was also going to include the postponed Kids’ Meet the Drivers Night activities from June 4 and the make-up WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature from the abbreviated May 21 season opener.
The Raceway will now take a weekend off for the Independence Day holiday observation before hitting the second half of its 2016 season at full stride. Events scheduled for July include kids’ bike races on the 9th, the middle race of the three-night Northland Super Stock Challenge Series on the 16th, the WISSOTA Race of Champions qualifier features on the 23rd, and the “Modified Mayhem” special on the 30th.
Rescheduling of the three events cancelled from last Saturday’s show will be announced at a later date.
The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road. For more information visit the track’s website, www.abcraceway.com, or call the track on racedays at (715) 682-4990.
