John Rothmund (Manitowoc) leaped to the lead at the drop of the green, with Travis Arenz (Sheboygan) closing in quickly to chase him down and lead the second lap. Rick Kretschmann (Sheboygan Falls), Sawyer Haese (New Franken), Brian Bruechert (Kewaunee), and Troy Degrave (Depere) all moved in to challenge Rothmund for position, with some fantastic racing as positions changed rapidly. Arenz led at the midway point, with Haese and Bruechert in his tire tracks looking for an opening, and Manitowoc’s Jerry Duggan tried to get into the top 5 challenging Kretschmann and Rothmund. Yellow lights came on on Lap 13 for an incident involving the majority of the leaders as Arenz, Haese, Degrave, Brandon Knepprath (Kewaskum), and Andrew Meyerhofer (Menasha) were forced to the rear after contact, and Bruechert was forced to pit to remove unsafe damage from his car, sending him to the rear also. Rothmund led the group back to green, with Kretschmann, Duggan, and Robby Thiel (Menasha) close behind. Arenz, Bruechert and Degrave were on a mission, coming back through the field after green, with Arenz coming all the way back to second as Rothmund held him off for the win.
