(Francis Creek, WI)- Benji LaCrosse led every lap of the 50 lap IMCA Modified Main Event at the 2016 Clash at the Creek. LaCrosse held off heavy pressure from two-time defending champion Mike Mullen to take home the $10,000 pay day.
In other racing action, Travis Van Straten took home the $500 check for his IMCA Stockcar Feature.
Travis Arenz put on a clinic of running the topside of the 1/3 mile on his way to an IMCA Sportmod victory.
Benji LaCrosse earned the pole position for the IMCA Modified Main Event by virtue of his passing points from Wednesday night. He quickly showed he was going to be a threat as he pulled away from the field immediately. Mike Mullen settled into his position in second place. Kyle Brown settled into third with a whole crew running right behind.

A few cautions kept the field together like a close knit family. On each restart, LaCrosse would pull Mullen around the speedway and eventually pull away. Shawn Kilgore and Hunter Marriot raced for third during the middle portion of the race. Kilgore ran the top with Marriott down low. Marriot would eventually win the race for third.
With 15 laps remaining, LaCrosse entered lapped traffic. Mullen was able to slowly inch closer to the leader. LaCrosse would have to slow down for lapped traffic that were running the same line. This would be the break Mullen needed.
With two laps remaining, Mullen was able to close in on the back bumper of LaCrosse. Mullen would try multiple lanes to try to get passed LaCrosse but was never able to make it happen.
LaCrosse was able to keep Mullen on his back bumper as they crossed the checkered flag and in doing so earned his second career $10,000 victory at The Clash at the Creek.
Mike Mullen finished second with Hunter Marriott third. Brian Irvine made a late charge to finish fourth after starting 13th. Jeremy Jacobs finished fifth.

Two of the best IMCA Stockcar drivers in Wisconsin history started up front in the IMCA Stockcar Feature. John Heinz started on the pole with Travis Van Straten to his outside. Heinz would lead with Van Straten right behind. Van Straten would consistently pull outside of Heinz but not be able to grab the lead.
The opening Van Straten needed happened on lap 15. Heinz entered lapped traffic and Van Straten pounced to his outside. Van Straten grabbed the lead for good a lap later. Heinz tried to stay with the leader but Van Straten was to strong once he got out front.
Van Straten took home the $500 check with Heinz finishing second. Dylan Heilman picked up the win for third over Dave Bouche who finished fourth. Kyle Frederick finished the Clash at the Creek with a pair of fifths.

$600 was up for grabs to the winner of the IMCA Sportmod Feature. Ryan Lemieux had finally shaken off the bad luck of his season as he sat on point early. Brian Bruechert ran second and tried to work over Lemieux for the top spot. Two yellows allowed everyone to stay on the back bumper of Lemieux.
Travis Arenz tried the top of the speedway until it finally came around late in the race. Arenz made his play for the lead on the final restart. Arenz cruised on round on top when everyone dabbled down low. That play put Arenz into victory lane.
Arenz went outside of Lemieux on lap 16 and never looked back. Arenz took home the Feature win after dealing with lapped traffic late. Kevin Bethke finished with another third place finish. Bruechert finished fourth with Mark Schuenemann fifth.
