Ashland, WI — Another busy night awaits fans attending the stock car racing program at the ABC Raceway on Saturday night.
The tenth annual running of the “Summer Sizzler” for the track’s Six-Cylinder racers, to be presented by the Lake Shore Cafe of Ashland, will be the headline act at the three-eighths-mile red-clay oval just south of Ashland, but it won’t be the only featured event. In addition, the Raceway will host its annual Kids’ Meet the Drivers festivities, thanks to Little Caesar’s Pizza of Ashland. Plus, the make-up feature for the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, originally slated for the shortened May 21 opener, will also be part of the program.
Add all that to the regular schedule of heats and features for the track’s five weekly divisions – WISSOTA-sanctioned Modifieds, Super Stocks and Pure Stocks, plus the Mid-Mods and Sixes – and fans will get another jam-packed racing program for the best adult-ticket price in the region.

The Sixes, which have been a part of the offering at ABC since 1983, will be running for a nicely-enhanced purse, including a winner’s-share $650. The defending champion of the event is 2014 track points champ Dale Coddington of Hayward, who is also the only past winner of this race still active in the Six-Cylinder division.
Other “Sizzler” winners include Neil Adamzak (2010 & ‘14), Tyler Hudack (‘13), Pat Beeksma (‘12), Don Muzzy (‘11), CJ Polacek (‘09), and Travis Swanson (‘07-’08).
Prior to the Mid-Mod make-up feature, track officials will ask the drivers to bring their race cars onto the front straightway, where fans of all ages will be invited onto the track to get an up-close look at the machines and meet their favorite drivers, and perhaps even get a photo, autograph or other treat from them.
Fans are invited to tune in to “Z-93 Race Night,” which will air from 4:30 until 6 pm on Saturday on WBSZ, 93.3 FM, and online at www.wbszfm.com, with up-to-date track news and weather information.
Hot laps are scheduled to start at 6:15 pm, and track officials hope to start the on-track meet-and-greet session by 6:30. The Midwest Mod make-up feature will see the green flag shortly after 7, followed by the complete regular program, which will be capped off by the Sixes’ special event.
Adult tickets are just $11 each, and kids ages 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult admission. The ABC Raceway is located 3-1/2 miles south of Ashland on State Highway 13 and one mile west on Butterworth Road.
